Job Description:

Lake County Schools is currently seeking a Senior Planner.  Lake County has become a highly desirable place to live and work, offering a strong sense of community within a growing and dynamic district.   The Senior Planner will oversee planning efforts for school facilities and works with local government agencies on land development matters for the district.

The person in this position will be responsible for, but not limited to,
– managing activities related to the district’s facilities planning process, including collaboration with staff and various agencies to appropriately address planning & growth management concerns based on changing demographics and population trends.
– manages the collection of data and the presentation of reports related to planning and growth management as required federal and state laws and/or regulations,
– Coordinates easement and right of way dedications requested by other local governments,
– Assists in the preparation and update of the district’s capital improvement plan,
– Coordinates the completion of the district’s Five-Year Work Program as required by the Florida Department of Education,
– Coordinates site entitlement/site planning process in cooperation with other departments and agencies,
– Assists in attendance boundary adjustment process, and
– Performs other duties as directed.

POSITION GOAL: Manage the development of generic and site-specific educational specifications. Conduct the development andmaintenance of the FiveYear Educational Plant Survey, verify and ensure compliance with all related laws, rulesand policies. Ensure alignment of the adopted Five-Year District Educational Facilities Plan and the EducationalPlant Survey. Actively participate in Design Review Committee meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience and/or training in the field related to the title of the position.

• An earned master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training in the field related to the title of the position.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

CAD DRAFTSPERSON D

Job Description:

POSITION GOAL: To primarily utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit software, or AutoCAD software, when necessary, togenerate accurate and detailed Florida Inventory of School Houses (FISH) related drawings of Broward CountyPublic Schools (BCPS) school and administrative facilities. Verify, prepare, and update the BCPS AutoCADbuilding floor plan and site plans BIM or AutoCAD FISH related drawings, consistent with the current establishedFacility Planning & Real Estate Departmental standards, which are in BIM Revit or at a minimum, AutoCAD FISHformat before filing in BCPS FISH database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• An earned associate degree from an accredited institution in architecture, interior design, or civil engineering,or related field with a degree in structural, or electrical engineering, or building construction.
— Or— 
• Sixty (60) hours or more of course credits, and a certificate in AutoCAD – Advanced or an equivalentcertificate in AutoCAD.
— And —
• A minimum of one (1) year with the last two (2) years of work experience using BIM Revit or in a related fieldwith demonstrated knowledge of utilizing BIM Revit.
• A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in AutoCAD or in a field related to the title of the position.
• Example(s) of work generated in AutoCAD and BIM Revit.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills are required for the position.
